With a distinctive style that foregrounds pure quality and the structure of movement, Brooklyn based Juri Onuki has provided choreography and movement direction for major names in fashion, television, advertising and music. She’s a frequent co-creator and collaborator with super producer and musician Dev Hynes (aka. Blood Orange), having choreographed critically acclaimed music videos and live performances as well as the HBO series We Are Who We Are, for which Hynes composed the soundtrack. Other prolific music artists who Juri has collaborated with include Tei Shi, Chairlift, Gus Dapperton and MJ Rodriguez. In the realm of fashion Juri has worked with publications and labels including Vogue, i-D, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Outdoor Voices and Converse. Whilst her versatility has lead to providing choreography and movement consultancy for a diverse range of brand giants, from JCPenny to Soho house.
