Mike Tyus is an award winning dancer, choreographer, and creative director with over 15 years of experience devising movement for the stage, print, and screen. His work has been featured in Vogue Italia, W Magazine, and LALA Magazine, and he has created campaigns for major brands including Anthropologie, Veuve Clicquot and Abercrombie.

Mike previously performed across a range of contexts, from Cirque Du Soleil to the Pilobolus Dance Theater. More recently as a creator, in the 2021/2022 season alone Mike was commissioned to create stage works for institutions including Visceral Dance Chicago, Chicago Repertory Ballet, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Manhattan Youth Ballet and Ziru Dance.

Other previous accolades include working with Apple and The Broad Museum to create short dance films (returning to the latter institution to perform “Trio A” by Yvonne Rainer) as well as working with FKA Twigs and Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold. As a founding member of Jacob Jonas The Company and an Associate Producer for Films.Dance, community is core to Mike’s mission as he continues to craft timely work that feeds the human spirit.
